What is BASIS?
BASIS is a student-managed organization investing $5,000,000 of the University's endowment. We have a dual mandate of providing a unique educational experience for all the members while generating competitive returns for the Virginia Tech Foundation. By investing real money, the student members merge the education they are receiving in the classroom with real market experience.
BASIS Mission
To provide educational opportunities, on behalf of the Virginia Tech Foundation, through successful implementation and profitable operation of a student-led, fixed income investment fund. BASIS invests substantial resources in and fosters development of its members in pursuit of the team's goals. Moving into our 2nd decade, BASIS seeks partners to sponsor resources that will expand our scope and success.
